ウェッジ：あれっ！　ジェシーの言ってた空き地ッスよ。目的の物を手に入れたら、ここに集合ッス。

Hey! It’s the lot Jessie was talking about. We rendezvous here when we’ve got what we came for.

クラウド：待て。警備のヤツらはどこだ？

クラウド：どうやら先客がいるらしい。

ティファ：気づくべきだったね。男の子たちはみんな村を出ていくもんね。

Should’ve figured. All the guys are leaving.

 

クラウド：でも俺はみんなとは違う。ただ仕事を探すだけじゃない。ソルジャーになるんだ。とびきり最高の。セフィロスみたいな。

B-but I’m not like them. I’m not going just to look for work. I’m gonna be a SOLDIER. The best of the best. Like Sephiroth.

 

ティファ：大戦の英雄、って？　ねぇ・・・ソルジャーになるのってかなり大変なんでしょ？

The great war hero, huh? Mm… Isn’t it pretty hard to become a SOLDIER?

 

クラウド：ああ。だから当分戻ってこれない。

Yeah. So I won’t be back for a long time.

 

ティファ：だろうね。活躍して新聞に載るようになると思う？

Guess not. Think you’ll be in the papers?

 

クラウド：頑張るよ。

I’ll try.

 

ティファ：一つだけだから・・・約束して。大きくなって、クラウドが有名なソルジャーになって・・・もし私が囚われたり困ったことになったら・・・助けに来てくれるって約束して。

Just…promise me one thing. When we’re older, and you’re a famous SOLDIER…if I’m ever trapped or in trouble… Promise you’ll come and save me.

 

クラウド：は？

Huh?

 

ティファ：それがヒーローでしょ。困った人を救うの。ね？　一度だけでいいから。

That’s what heroes do. They save people. Please? Just once.

 

クラウド：ああ・・・

Uhh…

 

ティファ：お願い、約束して！

Come on, promise me!

 

クラウド：分かったよ、約束する。

Fine. I promise.

 

クラウド：ティファは二の足を踏んでるって聞いた。

I heard you’re having second thoughts.
