バレット：場所をあけな、俺たちも手伝うぜ！

■make room (phrase) move aside or move sth aside to allow sb to enter or pass or to clear space for sth（フレーズ）場所をあける、席を譲る

 

ティファ：マーレさん！

Marle!

 

マーレ：生きてたんだね！

You’re alive!

 

クラウド：一緒に行くぞ。せーの――

With me. Ready and—

 

マーレ：会えてどれだけホッとしたことか。それで、これからどうするんだい？

I can’t tell you how relieved I am to see you. So. What now?

 

バレット：分からん。何か見つけるさ・・・なんでもいいから俺たちにやれることを。

マーレ：もう店には行ったのかい？

Been back to the bar yet?

 

＊「yet」を「まだ」と覚えていると思いますが、疑問文の中の「yet」は「もう」と訳すとしっくりきます。

 

バレット：いや。

No.

 

マーレ：確認してきたらどうだい。

Maybe you should go take a look.

バレット：分かった。まずは店・・・それから残りだ。

バレット：本当か？　心配させやがって、こんなふうにくたばってなきゃ、蹴っ飛ばしてやるところだぜ。良かったぜ。

クラウド：神羅の地下研究施設で人体実験のあとを見つけた。そんなことをずっとやってるんだ。俺は神羅という組織を知っている。ヤツら、エアリスを解放なんてしないぞ。この世で最後の古代種の生き残りだ。それが神羅の科学者にとってどういう意味を持つか考えてみろ。特に宝条ってクソ野郎は、人を人とも思わない――

We found an underground Shinra lab where they’ve done human testing. This wasn’t the first time and it won’t be the last. I know these people, and I know they’re never gonna let Aerith go. She’s the last living Ancient on the planet. Think about what that means to Shinra’s scientists. Especially to that son of a bitch Hojo. We’re all just numbers and meat to him.

 

■lab = laboratory（名）研究室

 

エルマイラ：いい加減にしておくれ！

Enough!

 

クラウド：でも――

But—

 

エルマイラ：お願いだ、少し考える時間をおくれ。あんたたちも長い一日だったろ。上に行って少し休んだらどうだい？

Please. I need some time to think. You’ve all had a long day. Why don’t you go upstairs and get some rest.
