英語字幕・日本語訳 (Episode 2: Out of Time 時間切れ Part 13)

Max, I’m in a nightmare and I can’t wake up…unless I put myself to sleep. Then everybody at Blackwell can post pics of my body; I’m already on the internet forever. No wonder they call it a “web”; nothing can ever get out. Like my video… I wish I could go back in time and erase everything…

■post (v) to publish sth such as a message or picture on a website or using social media(動)〔インターネットなどに情報を〕掲載する、載せる、投稿する

■pic(s) = picture(s)

Kate, this is our chance to beat the bullies. That’s the only way we can win against them.

■beat (v) to defeat or do better than(動)打ち負かす、~を出し抜く

■bully (n) sb who hurts or frightens sb else, often over a period of time(名)自分より弱い者に対するいじめを繰り返す人

Can we really, Max? I don’t believe in miracles anymore either.

■believe in (phrase) have faith in the truth or existence of sth / be of the opinion that sth is right or acceptable(フレーズ)~の存在・正当性を信じる、 (人)を信頼する

Now I do. You’re part of the reason why. If you come down with me, I can tell you more…

You’re such a good person, Max. Even if you’re full of crap. But I’ll come with you…you’re my friend.

■be full of crap/shit/it (phrase) sb often says things that are wrong or stupid(フレーズ)ほら吹きである

Forever.

I’m sorry…sorry…

Now, I know today was difficult for everybody, but I’m so proud of the way Blackwell pulled together to save a young girl’s life. Of course, you’re quite a hero for getting Kate to come down, Max.

■pull together (phrase) to work hard as a group in order to achieve something(フレーズ)協力する

■get someone to do something (phrase) you cause the other person to do the action, maybe by paying them to do it, or by asking them to do it, or by persuading them to do it(フレーズ)(どうにかして/なんとかして)〜させる・〜をしてもらう

I didn’t do much…

She’s modest. Like a real hero.

■modest (a) unassuming in the estimation of one’s abilities or achievements(形)謙虚な

■amiss (a) wrong, not suitable, or not as expected(形)間違った、不適切な

Mr. Prescott, since you are responsible for the Vortex Club parties, and since Miss Marsh did attend your last party, you’ll have to answer some more questions.

Miss Caulfield, why exactly were you on the roof with Kate Marsh? Did she tell you her plan? Or anything at all? Please, tell us everything.
