マックス：Hi, Ms. Grant.

グラント先生。

 

グラント：Excuse me, Max? I know everybody loves being asked to sign a petition, but would you do Ms. Grant a favor and hear me out?

マックス、誰でも署名を求められて嫌なことはないと思うけど、先生のお願いを聞いてくれる？

マックス：Sure, I always have time for you. What’s the petition?

グラント：David Madsen, our chief of security, wants to put surveillance cameras all around the campus. Halls, classrooms, gym, dorm rooms, et cetera. Blackwell Academy should be a high school, not a high security penitentiary.

警備主任のデイビッド・マドセンが校内中に監視カメラを設置したいっていうのよ。廊下、教室、体育館、学生寮などにもね。ブラックウェル・アカデミーは高校であって警備の厳重な刑務所じゃないのよ。

グラント：Blackwell Academy has a noble heritage, from the Native Americans who founded this land, to the pioneers who shared it in peace, not fear and violence.

グラント：I’m not against security, Max. We should all be concerned when private space becomes public. Your generation has been tricked to think everything should be recorded.

私も安全対策に反対してるわけじゃないけど、プライバシーが公に晒されるのを危惧したほうがいいと思うの。あなた達の世代は、なんでもかんでも記録されたほうが良いって思い込まされてるのよ。
