クラウド：本物なわけない・・・あんたは・・・死んだ。

You’re not real… You’re… …dead!

 

セフィロス：そうか？

I am?

 

クラウド：自分の手であんたを殺した・・・

I killed you with my own—

 

セフィロス：ああ、（ちゃんと覚えてるから）思い出させる必要はないぞ。我々が共に過ごした時間で最高の瞬間だったからな。

だがそれはその時の事。今は今だ。さて、おまえに頼みがある。

我々の愛すべきこの星が死のうとしている。ゆっくりと。静かに。苦しみながら。この星の苦しみを見てられるか・・・クラウド？

Oh, you need not remind me. It was the crowning moment of our time together.

But that was then, and this is now. I have a favor to ask.

Our beloved planet is dying. Slowly. Silently. Painfully. Can you bear to see the planet suffer… Cloud?

セフィロス：星が死ねば多くの物が消えてしまうだろう。この艶やかに燃えるおまえの故郷も、息子だけは見逃してくれと私に乞う母親の声も、刀に屈した彼女の肉体が震える感触も。

Were the planet to die, so many things would be lost. Your hometown that burns so bright… The sound of her voice pleading for me to spare you. The shiver of her flesh yielding to cold steel.

 

＊クラウドの母親はセフィロスによって殺されており、「刀に屈した彼女の肉体が震える感触も」は彼女を剣で切り捨てた時の感触のことです。

■plead for (phrase) to make an urgent, emotional statement or request for something（フレーズ）～を懇願する

■spare (v) to not hurt or destroy something or someone（動）容赦する、～を見逃す、助命する

■shiver (n) the act of shaking slightly because you are frightened, cold, or ill（名）震え

■flesh (n) the soft part of the body of a person or animal that is between the skin and the bones （名）肉

セフィロス：そういう我々を繋げる物も消える。そんな世界で生きたいと思わない。

That which binds us together would be no more. And I would be loath to live in such a world.

Which is why I must ask you this one favor. Don’t worry. It’s a simple thing.

Run, Cloud… Run away. You have to leave… You have to live.

セフィロス：いいぞ、クラウド。それでいい。私への憎しみを忘れるな。

Good, Cloud. Very good. Hold on to that hatred.
